I love digital but man I'm going back to what feels good. Pencils. Paper. Journals. Notebooks.
While working in Mexico I kept it light, which meant I had one file folder and no notebooks. It worked. But as I've been easing (ha, really y'all more like zooming) back into life and work at home in the States, I'm noticing what feels good, what works and tiny things that bring me joy. (Like this pretty orange notebook for lists and notes I picked up this week.)
It's helpful to embrace change and try new ways of doing things. And while something different might work forever moving forward, it's also good to take note of what the heart wants and how you do your best work.
For me that means going back to something familiar and tangible like pencil and paper. As my 40th birthday approached recently, my sister and Mom asked what I wanted. And I have to admit, I felt a little lame when I shared a 2018 planner (yes, paper with rings) that I've been eyeing. The heart wants what it wants. AND this isn't just any old planner. This one has some soul to it. Or maybe I should say it is a container for bringing out my soul desires. Who doesn't want to plan their life with that in mind!
It's a beauty and I can't wait to dive into it when the time comes. I've always been a writer and kept journals and planners. For the past few years I dropped the planner, well, because duh, smartphone. But there's something about putting thoughts to paper. Intentions. Desires. To dos. It puts them into the world and I believe is a catalyst for seeing through to fruition.
So I'm going old school. Here it is, the Danielle LaPorte 2018 Desire Map Planner, in case you want to rock it back too and live your life forward with purpose.
